2024 CLASS ALLOCATIONS

Thank you to everyone who put forward a class allocation preference for 2024 – the opportunity to place a class allocation to Mrs Freeman has now closed.  These preferences will be taken into consideration as there are many factors that teachers take into consideration when allocating your child into a class.

 WHOLE SCHOOL SUSTAINABILITY DAY

Wednesday of Week 10, the whole school engaged in a sharing session around our Inquiry big concept for the term ‘Sustainability’.  It was lovely to see the Prep children sharing about how to care for their special places and the Year 4 children were amazed at how much knowledge the Prep children were able to share with the them.  Each class had the opportunity to share their learnings with another year level (Round 1) and then each class had the opportunity to learn from another class (Round 2).  The children were able to change the purpose of their learning to suit the year level that was coming in to learn. It was lovely to see new relationships and learning opportunities for the future occur between classes.

Student Leadership Nomination Processes 2024

In week 10 last term, students in year 5 embarked on the first step of their student leadership journey with a expert panel. As they prepare for nominations of student leadership positions this term, the students heard from staff across the school about the qualities of a good student leader. Thank you to our panellists; Mr Trattos, Mrs Freeman, Mrs Quinn, Mrs Southwell, Mrs Mitchell, Mr Petersen and Mr Landbeck!  Key qualities of a good student leader included: respect, leaving a legacy, service before self, lead by example, encouragement, using the learner assets and being kind and fair.

Year 5 students this week met with Miss Kirk for their second student leadership orientation session, and will be nominating for formal leadership positions over the next 3 weeks.   For more information on the student leadership nomination processes, please see the student handbook (link below).

Crazy Sock Day fundraiser

On Wednesday 11th October, the Wellbeing Legacy Committee is hosting a Crazy Sock Day fundraiser for Mental Health Week.  All community members are encouraged to wear crazy socks to raise awareness for mental health and bring a gold coin donation to support the wellbeing Legacy Committee.
