Deputy Principals Report

PJ Day

On Tuesday, the Student Council held a PJ Day. What fun!! The day was enjoyed by staff and students alike. We raised $512 towards our school and will use these funds towards the end of year celebration day in the last week of term 4.  Well done Student Councillors, and thank you to the school community!

Australia’s Biggest Child Safety Lesson

Continuing on from the recent Daniel Morcombe Child Safety Talk, students in prep to year 6 will participate in Australia’s Biggest Child Safety Lesson which is live streamed to classrooms all across Australia on 5th September.  Each class can tune into the important safety messages aimed at junior primary and upper primary.  More information will come outlining the key messages in the safety lessons.

Calling for your Local Community Feedback

Local Councillor Nicole Johnston from the Tennyson Ward has reached out to our school community for feedback on a local park development. Nicole is conducting a short online survey about a park upgrade in Yeronga. Jacaranda Park is located on the corner of the Brisbane Cso and Ormuz Rd in Yeronga West.

Councillor Nicole Johnston values our community and student feedback and is asking for our opinions.  Students will have an opportunity to contribute ideas in class, and you might like to contribute your family ideas too!

The results are only used by Nicole Johnston’s office for the purpose of park planning and the data is not shared with anyone else. You can access the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GMJMGZ9

Book Week Parade

Thank you to all the Prep – Yr 4 parents that attended the Book Week Parade this morning – our children and our teaching team all looked amazing.  There were many characters – Cat in the Hat, Harry Potter characters, Alice in Wonderland, the Titanic (which nearly struck an iceberg on their walk around), Slinky Malinki, Thelma the Unicorn, Curious George and the man in the yellow hat and so many more….

A joyous morning was had by all!!

PREP 2024 INFORMATION SESSION

The Prep 2024 information session was held on Monday 21 August at 6pm in the Resource Centre.  This was a repeat of the first information session which was held back in April this year.  It was a lovely opportunity to share what our school values most and how we want our children to be ‘literate, numerate and curious, and to be connected, curious community minded learners and citizens that make a positive difference to the world’.

  • If you have a school age child that is entering prep next year and have not handed in enrolment forms please do so as soon as possible, so that they can have the smoothest transition to school.
  • Prep discussions run over a series of Fridays’, please see the following dates
  • Friday 8 September
  • Friday 15 September
  • Friday 6 October

2024 CLASS ALLOCATIONS
