Inquiry News

Next term, each year level will be exploring the whole school concept of sustainability.

In general, sustainability is understood as a form of intergenerational ethics in which the environmental and economic actions taken by present persons do not diminish the opportunities of future persons to enjoy similar levels of wealth, utility, or welfare. (https://www.britannica.com/science/sustainability)

Sustainability is our society’s ability to exist and develop without depleting all of the natural resources needed to live in the future. Sustainable development supports this long-term goal with the implementation of systems, frameworks, and support from global, national, and local entities.

NAIDOC WEEK

Each year level will be engaging in learning and experiences to celebrate NAIDOC Week in the first week of Term 3.  Classes will be learning and playing Indigenous outdoor games, sharing traditional stories, and engaging in yarning circle time.  We would love to embrace the theme of ‘For Our Elders’ this year.

If there are any elders in our community who might be available to join us for a shared story time, at any stage from the 10th – 14th July, we would love to hear from you.  We will also be holding a sausage sizzle on the first Friday of the term, to raise funds for our planned native kitchen garden.  BBQ cooks would be much appreciated between 9 – 11am on Friday 14th July.   Please contact Clare Triggell if you can assist.  cttri0@eq.edu.au
