Gala Day Reports

Girls Basketball

The Year 5 girls are a passionate group of players who have thoroughly enjoyed our Friday afternoon training sessions.  All the girls displayed excellent skills and sportsmanship throughout the day.  We won our first four games quite convincingly against Algester, Calamvale, Warrigal Road and Roberston.

These games saw some excellent shooting from Lulia and Caitlyn.  Helena was very strong on defence and Jemima and Elanor dribbled the ball successfully down the full length of the court on many occasions.   Hope showed consistent high energy in both attack and defence and was always well supported by Violet, who was always in the right place at the right time. Anne showed her passion for the game and worked hard to move around the court to create great space.  Holly demonstrated her knowledge of team sport through a developed sense of game play.  Rocio's love of the game was contagious, and she was always open and ready to shoot when needed.  Gabrielle showed us how much she has improved over the weeks by displaying excellent ball skills and agility on court.  Theia was particularly good in defence, blocking her opponents and intercepting the ball.

Unfortunately, our last three games saw us lose by a narrow margin, but we have taken away a number of things to work on before the next round.

Senior Boys Soccer A

Last Friday the Junior and Senior A boys soccer teams went to Calamvale Community College for gala day. The boys played with great spirit, teamwork and sportsmanship. They ended the day undefeated without conceding a goal. Well done boys. Looking forward to the next gala day!
