Chappy's Chat
Parent Cafe
The first term is nearly over, and there is just one more chance to catch up with me at Parent Café next Tuesday morning. Get a free drink and sweet from the coffee cart set up under the trees down in the junior school and have a chat with me or other parents.
Perspective Changes Things
Perspective changes the way we see and experience the world around us. It makes us consider different views, attitudes, and beliefs. It helps us to develop empathy, tolerance, and compassion for others, deepening our connections and reducing conflict. Importantly, it also benefits us when we are going through challenging times, and is a great self-care tool to use to direct our thoughts and actions.
So if you are struggling, take a step back and look wide, or look at your difficulties through the viewpoint of another person. It can shift your view, helping to realise that maybe your problems aren’t as big, all-encompassing or long-lasting as it might feel. When you aren’t so deep in the struggle, you may be able to see alternative solutions or answers, or gain the perspective that the issues will be resolved with time or through some assistance from a professional, or even a friend or your community. Let those changed thoughts direct your speech and actions. Speak positively to encourage your family and yourself, providing lift to your home and life.
Happy Easter
I hope you enjoy the coming holidays, and have time to create some new memories with your family. Looking back on my own childhood, holidays were some of the most memorable occasions, but not just those times we travelled. The most precious moments I remember were the ones where we spent time together as a family over simple pleasures. Have fun making those memorable moments!
Blessings, Chappy Jenny
