Deputy Principals' Report
E-Safety Kids
This weeks E-safety kids message focuses on cyber bullying. The E-safety commissioners webpage has some great information and steps to follow to support students who report bullying online. Students in years 3-6 will discus the information below at this weeks assembly.
What does cyberbullying look like?
- hurtful messages, comments or images
- threats
- spreading lies about you online
- creating fake online profiles
- Sharing / threatening to share something online that can hurt you
- making you feel very sad, very scared or very upset
What to do?
- Get help from a trusted adult
Get help from the police if you are in immediate serious danger.
3. Try not to say anything back — it could make things worse.
4. Keep evidence — an adult can help you take screenshots or keep a journal in case you need evidence to report it.
5. Block or report them— most games and apps have a way to block or report someone.
6. Report to eSafety

Year 5 camp
Last week, the year 5 students attended camp at Currumbin Valley. The weather was on our side as students navigated a variety of rescue challenges, working on their leadership and team skills. The key theme of the camp activities centred around 3 values: Communication, Valuing others and Resilience. The challenges certainly tested our students, as they used their learner assets to solve problems, and achieve a team goal. We’re always proud of our students on camp, stepping out of their comfort zones and putting their best foot forward, and feedback from the camp staff is always positive, praising our students for their behaviour. Great work year 5!
