MUSIC WEEK

In week 3, we will be celebrating all that is musical at Yeronga State School. Over the week, all of our extra-curricular ensembles (Band, Strings and Choir) will be out and about performing for the school community. I have also had a couple of parents nominate to perform before school and in lunch times. Thank you so much to these people. If there are any other Yeronga SS family members keen to join in the celebrations by volunteering to perform as acoustic “street entertainment” before school (8:30 – 8:50am) on Monday 26/7 or Wednesday 28/7, I would love to hear from you via email at leeas0@eq.edu.au. Solo acts and duos/trios/quartets ensembles etc. are all welcome. Please see below for the current schedule of performers (which is subject to change due to weather events etc):

Yeronga’s Got Talent

YERONGA’S GOT TALENT

Yeronga’s Got Talent is coming up quickly and auditions are being held on Thursday and Friday this week. Thank you to all auditionees for your hard work and dedication. You will be notified early next week as to if you have successfully made it to the Yeronga’s Got Talent Final on July 30. Don’t forget that Yeronga’s Got Talent will commence at 6pm in the Yeronga SS Hall and will be promptly followed by Chappy’s Movie Night.  

MUSIC CONGRATULATIONS 

Congratulations to Brian Z, our school strings captain on receiving an A+ for his grade 6 violin AMEB exam. This year Brian has also been selected to be the concertmaster of the Queensland Youth Orchestras’ Junior String Ensemble. Well done, Brian, these are outstanding achievements! 

Congratulations also to strings players Ariel M, Indigo M and Rhys J who this year are playing with the Young Conservatorium Overture String Orchestra.
