2019 Building Fund Appeal
Please help us air condition the WHOLE school before summer hits!
Like the village we need to raise our kids, it takes a whole community to air condition a school. We have a terrific school community that has so far raised enough money to air condition classrooms for our children in Prep, and grades 4, 5 and 6, as well as the school music building (all to be installed by the beginning of term 3). Now it’s on to the rest of the school! With your help we can create the temperature change we want to see in ALL classrooms.
Together let's give the gift of air conditioning to our kids and teachers in grades 1, 2 and 3 before the 2019/2020 summer hits. Our terrific Fete a few weeks ago has brought us close - please will you help us get there? Children simply learn better in a comfortable learning environment.

Woolworths Earn & Learn
The last day to collect Woolworth’s Earn & Learn stickers is next Tuesday, 25 May. There will be a very tight turnaround time due to school holidays in order to collate and select resources for our school. Please collect as many stickers from Woolies, family, friends and work colleagues as possible and drop them into the special Earn and Learn box on the ground level of the Grade 1 building, or in the P&C payments boxes, or to YOSHC no later than NEXT Wednesday 26 June (the earlier the better).
So far we have collected more than 22,000 stickers and the Adams family has painstakingly stuck every one of them to Earn and Learn sticker sheets, as required for the promotion. A massive thank you to Carolyn and her family for their dedication to the cause. Let's see how many we can collect in the last week - every sticker brings us closer to buying more resources for our school. Thank you!!!
School Disco
The Tuckshop will be open for the school disco from 4:30pm next Thursday 27 June to help fill the tummies of our young groovers (and their carers). Two Meal Deals will be on offer (no need to pre-order):

A word of advice for first-time Disco-go’ers... peak time for the Tuckshop is 6pm-6:30pm, between the 2 disco sessions. For shorter queuing times we recommend making your purchases outside of this time.
July P&C Meeting - 'One off' Venue Change to A Block
With the school holidays nearly upon us, our July P&C meeting will be held on the evening of the second day of term 3, Tuesday, 16 July, at 7:00pm - all are welcome!
Please note the change of meeting venue - our July P&C meeting will be held in the 5/6W classroom, upstairs in A block to celebrate the installation of air conditioning into three blocks of classrooms over the June/July holidays (5/6W will be one of the newly air conditioned classrooms).
Sincere thanks
Thank you sincerely to all members our school community for your support and generosity of spirit throughout this action packed term. From our record breaking Fete to the Nature Play working bee, Democracy Sausage Sizzle, Mother's Day stall, snow cone stalls and everything in between, it has been humbling to witness the strength of our community working together for the benefit our kids and school. We have asked a lot from our community and have been heartened by the grace with which the parents, families and friends of YSS responded to our calls for help. Thank you again.
We wish you a wonderful holiday break and look forward to enjoying term 3 activities with our school community from 15 July. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy this term 2 'highlights reel' :-)
