2021 Primary Speech Contest

The 2021 MLTAQ Brisbane Primary and Secondary Languages Speech Contest is back and Yeronga State School students are able to try out for a place in the top four spots in Years 4 to 6. Please see Mrs. Hegarty to get a speech to start preparing for Spanish speech trials in term 3.

The Primary Contest will be held on Sunday, September 12 and successful students will be allocated a time to present their speech between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.. Due to Covid restrictions there will be no Awards Ceremony this year, however, results will be announced on the day from 12:30 p.m. in the marshalling area. Medals and Certificates will be presented on Assembly following the contest.

There will be 6 languages participating in the contest this year, so students who can speak Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Russian, French or German may also wish to enter the contest. Please speak to Mrs. Hegarty or Mrs. Bueno about the speeches and your eligibility to enter. People in the wider community may wish to assist on the day and are asked to register their interest as soon as possible.
