Deputy Principals Report
Welcome back families to Term 2 of 2021. We are both looking forward to a positive, inquisitive and productive term ahead. The term has started successfully with children being active and happy in their learning.
Active School Travel
Yes, we are continuing Active School Travel every Wednesday. Remember to travel this coming Wednesday, get your passport stamped and go into the draw for the major prize!! The stamping stations are located in two locations - the Upper School it will be under C Block, and the Junior School will be on the green artificial grass in front of the Year One Building. We hope that you will actively travel every Wednesday and come and say a big hello to our Active School Travel captains – Let’s get active in 2021!
Curiosity and Powerful Learning – School visits
Yeronga State School is fortunate enough to be part of a Curiosity and Powerful Learning Cluster network. As part of this network teachers are able to visit other schools and see common areas of work put into practice. On Tuesday 4 May, we will host a school visit sharing session. This will allow our students and teachers to showcase the learning that has taken place with Cam Brooks and Assessment For Learning. We look forward to sharing how far we have come in this space and receiving feedback about how we can continue to build on what is working well.
Upcoming Events
We would love to see you at our upcoming events during this term.

Tracy Freeman
Hi everyone
It’s been a lovely start to my time here at Yeronga State School. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the students and have had the pleasure of spending time celebrating student learning in classrooms. This week, class 5TW shared their creative sculptures with me. Students have created their own creatures as part of the inquiry unit “Ultimate Survivors”. Students have considered survival features of many animals to create their own. Well done 5TW!
