ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day Ceremony Friday 23 April at 9:00am

The annual Yeronga State School Anzac Day ceremony is rapidly approaching. Please note that the ANZAC Ceremony will be held during Week One of Term Two at 9am on Friday 23 April. We invite family and friends of Yeronga State School to join us for this annual event, which holds great significance for us all. Students are required to be dressed in full formal uniform (i.e. NO Senior shirts). We ask that all students arrive at school on time, so that the ceremony can begin promptly at 9am. Students are asked to bring along a small posy of flowers to lay under the trees on Honour Ave, as a part of the ceremony. The Garden Club will be selling posies prior to school on the day.

The students of Yeronga State School have also been invited by the members of the Stephens Sub-Branch RSL to join the annual Anzac Day March and Memorial Service, being held on Sunday 25th April. The Parade will step off at 7.00am from outside Yeronga State School and will travel along Park Road, turn right through the Yeronga Memorial Park gates into Honour Avenue and proceed to the Cenotaph (N.B. This is a new route for the Parade). The Memorial Service will commence at 7.30am. Students who are joining us on the march are asked to be wearing full formal uniform (with a hat) and are reminded to bring along a water bottle. We hope that a large number of students and parents can join us to mark this important occasion in our local community.
