P&C Report
New 2021 P&C Executive team
A big THANK YOU to all the members who joined us for the P&C AGM last Tuesday, 16 February. It was wonderful to see so many new and returning families to YSS to share the highlights of the unique year that was 2020, and plan for 2021. With preparations for the Fete and 150th celebrations well and truly underway, this will be a big and exciting year! At last week's AGM the following members were voted into P&C leadership positions for 2021. Sincere thanks and welcome to:
2021 P&C Executive
- Co-Presidents – Kym Mansfield and Hamish Townsend
- Vice-Presidents – Anna Rimpau, Cedryck Vaquette and Russell Neville
- Secretary – Julia Connors
- Treasurer – Amy Smith
- Fete Convenor and Events Coordinator - Juliet Brooks
We welcome Cedryck and Russell to the Exec team (along with our continuing members for whom we are most appreciative) and sincerely thank Darren Cosgrove for his 2 years of service as Vice-President. Darren stepped down at the AGM as this is his final year as a YSS parent.
All 2020 P&C memberships lapsed at the AGM. If you haven’t joined the P&C for 2021 please take a moment to sign up as a P&C member for 2021 via our online membership form:www.surveymonkey.com/r/ysspandc2021membership. Attendance at our monthly meetings is not compulsory. Your membership is simply the best way to ensure you receive our P&C news and communications, have the power to vote at P&C meetings, and help us via a high level membership with grant applications.
Easter Raffle: seeking donations
Our annual Easter raffle is highly anticipated with many happy winners. Throughout term 1 families donate items for Easter hampers and sell raffle tickets to friends, family and colleagues. It is anticipated that more than 100 Easter hampers will be distributed as prizes to excited kids during the last week of term 1 (all the prizes are donated by our school community).
From weeks 5 to 9 of term 1 we ask all families to please bring in donations for the Easter raffle - these are collected by class teachers. All items are greatly appreciated, from chocolate of all description, to Easter craft kits, picture books and other non-chocolate items to be included in the Easter hamper prizes. Gift baskets and boxes will also be terrific (perhaps you have some lying around home you would like to find a new home for).
Each child will soon receive 2 books of tickets to bring home to sell to family, friends, colleagues and neighbours, with extra tickets available from YOSHC, the Uniform Shop, and Tuckshop. Traditionally this is a popular fundraiser for YSS. Your support is sincerely appreciated and brings great joy to our children and community!

Flexischools: Update your child's class for Tuckshop and Uniform Shop orders
To ensure children receive their correct Tuckshop and Uniform Shop orders through Flexischools, please ensure you have updated their classes for 2021.
For Prep parents there is an extra step that has caused some issues due to it not being as intuitive as we would ideally like. To help parents of Prep children who may be having issues updating your child/ren's class, below is a screenshot of what it should look like. First you need to select your year level 'Prep/Kindy', then a drop down list will appear to select your specific prep class.
If you need assistance with Flexischools issues please contact P&C Operations Manager, Sarah Cordingley, at operations@yerongasspandc.org.au and Sarah will gladly help you.

Snow Cones @ Senior Cross Country
YSS kids love their $2 snow cones after they finish their cross country. With the Senior Cross Country scheduled for Wednesday, 17 March, the P&C is seeking volunteers to help set up, serve and pack up the Snow Cone stall. Volunteer shifts are available from 8:30-12:00noon (there's a good chance everything will be packed up by 11:30am) to ensure all children are able to enjoy snow cone after their run. Please sign up to help on the Snow Cones stall here: https://signup.com/go/ZiquUeP. Your snow cone prowess will be very much appreciated by our children!

School Banking: Re-starting week 6
The P&C will restart school banking in week 6 of term 1. From next Thursday, 4 March, students will be able to bring in their Dollarmites banking for collection in their classrooms. Banking bags from classrooms are to be delivered to the YOSHC office for counting and banking into the children's accounts. Many thanks to parent volunteer, Allyssa Elliott, for coordinating school banking for our children.
‘Just One Thing’
This is our final call for anyone who would like to nominate their favoured volunteering opportunities for 2021 through the P&C's 'Just One Thing' survey. This is a window into the myriad of ways you can get involved throughout the year, and a super easy way for you to nominate the activity/ies that appeal to you - simply tick the option/s you would like to do, enter your details and submit. A P&C representative will be in touch with you at the appropriate time. Please nominate your 'one thing' here (you're welcome to choose more than one thing too): www.surveymonkey.com/r/yss2021justonething.
