Camp at Home

Thank you for the great response to the showbags.  I hope it was fun camping at home, even with the deluge of rain we had over that weekend. Congratulations to the Hodgson family for winning Chappy Games with a significant lead.  A prize pack has been sent their way.  Let’s hope we can return to Camp at School in 2021.

Harmony Day

We didn’t get to celebrate Harmony Day this year as it was scheduled just as the world started to shut down with the pandemic.  So I’ve been able to bring a small Harmony Day presentation to both assemblies in week 5 and 6 this term.  The theme this year was “ A Million Dreams”, and I asked students back in term 1 these questions:

  • What sort of world do you want to create?
  • What is your dream for our school?
  • What sort of school do we want to work towards?
  • What is our collective dream for our school for inclusivity?

So what would your dream be for our school community?  I love that we’ve mostly worked out how to celebrate our differences and together make this school a place where “everyone belongs”.  We’ve realised that all our different beginnings, families, cultural differences, and unique talents come together to make our community very special.

Christmas Hampers

Thank you to the school community for your generosity towards this project of helping families with end of year festivities.  At this stage, we have enough goodies to make up five hampers, which is a great start to the aim of ten hampers for ten families.  You can continue to drop off your donations to the baskets in the office foyer.  It would be great if donations could be directed to items that are not in your usual weekly shop e.g. shortbread, chocolate, mince pies, puddings, nuts, and festive items.  You might like to purchase a couple of items and drop it off once, or buy something each week from now until the end of November.

Financial Assistance

St Vincent de Paul is offering financial assistance to families who have lost a significant proportion of their income because of Covid, helping with back to school assistance of uniforms, stationery, levies and other learning resources in 2021.  Vinnies would like to connect with you this year in preparation for next year, so please email or come and see me for more information, or call the Vinnies Helpline (1800VINNIE = 1800 846 643).

Coming Up

17/11 – Sub and Drink Lunch Deal.  This time around, no envelopes will be sent home, as you can place your order on Flexischools, saving paper and cash handling.  Please place your order by Friday 13th November.

Blessings,

Chappy Jenny
