Being in isolation doesn't mean you can't still be green! Here are a couple of ideas if you need to get out and enjoy some nature to feel good!
The first one is a photo competition run by Junior Landcare. All you have to do is go out into your backyard and take a photo of something under one of the four categories; biodiversity, food production, indigenous perspectives or waste management. Check out this page to find out how it works! It is easy to get involved and you can submit as many photos as you like. Closing date is Friday 1 May 2020.
Have fun in your backyard!
The second idea is to spend some time in your backyard and complete a 'Birds in Backyards' survey. Just download the Birdata app and get out into your yard to do some bird spotting! It doesn't even have to be your backyard, it could be a park too. Maybe you could combine both ideas and take a photo of a bird for the competition.
This Birdata information is really important citizen science information that is used to inform researchers of how our birds are doing!
Whatever you choose to do over the next few weeks, make it count, be creative, enjoy yourself, but most important of all, keep yourself safe!
