Welcome to 2020
It was great to see many new families at my Welcome Morning Tea on Tuesday. If we didn’t get to meet, please feel free to come and have a chat with me over the coming weeks. Some of the things I do as School Chaplain is to provide pastoral care, provide social, emotional and spiritual support, and meet welfare needs. I love being part of the wider Yeronga Community, and in particular supporting our students, their families and the staff of this great school.
There’s been many jokes and memes recently about having perfect vision (20-20) with the year being 2020. Humour aside, our children will be thinking through some of their goals for learning and behaviour for the year. It helps them to focus on what they want to achieve, and allows for regular reflection to keep on track for reaching those goals. So what vision do you have for your year? What goals do you have your eyes set on? How will you measure and reflect on how to reach them? Let me know if I can encourage or cheer you on this year as you seek greater vision for you and your family.
Volunteers
There are many ways to be connected at school, and a great way to do that includes volunteering your time to support the school community. The Chaplaincy Program gives many opportunities for volunteers to be connected and build friendships with other families, while being part of a great community service program. If you would like to be involved, please come and see me.
