Resource Centre Report
Welcome Back to School and our Library
The Yeronga State School library is a well-stocked library and a well-used library. It was wonderful to see the students coming in and wanting to borrow books straight away. Our library serves as a hub for many students who come to borrow, run and attend clubs and activities. Students attend a 30 minute library learning session each week and also have a library borrowing session each week. Our two teacher librarians alternate terms so that we can share our skill set and knowledge with all students across the school. Faith Hage works in the library on Mondays and Wednesday and teachers students, research skills, inquiry skills and cybersafety. In term 1 Faith will be working with years 4 to 6, focusing on using research skills, such as note taking, assessing sources of information for validity and using these in the inquiry process. Debbie Cowie will be working with Prep to year three students teaching them library skills, and digital technologies with a specific focus on ICT and using ipads.
These are some of my favourite pictures from last year.

Happy Reading,
Mrs Cowie and Mrs Hage
