Junior School Athletics Carnival
Well done students and thank you Mr Curness for organising a wonderful Athletics carnival for Prep to Year 3 students. Students showed a friendly, competitive spirit and enjoyed taking part in a range of events on Monday morning.
Prep Platform Pals
Prep students learnt from QRail education officer Aaron this week. Aaron talked to the students about how to stay safe in and around trains in preparation for our Out of the Box excursion. Students learnt that trains and stations are not safe places to play and about the importance of waiting behind the yellow line on a platform.
AFL School Cup
Congratulations to students who represented YSS and participated in the AFL School Cup last week. Thank you to parent Joel Archbald who assisted the teams with training in the lead up and coaching on the day. Both teams will now participate in the next round of competition on 17th September.
Senior School Buddies
6L and 1R have been collaborating on a few projects this year. It is wonderful to see our school leaders mentoring and nurturing the growth of our little learners.
Winter Concert Wrap-up
Thank you to our incredible instrumental teachers, Mrs Eastgate and Mr Grodecki. Your energy, patience, and love for music shine in everything you do. You've not only helped your students grow as musicians but also helped them find joy and confidence in their journey. We're so lucky to have you!
A special mention of our collaboration with Yeronga State High School—it was such a great experience having their students join us. Watching everyone play together so smoothly was a real highlight of the night. It was wonderful to see both primary and high school students sharing the stage, learning from each other, and building connections that bring our school communities together.
Thank you to the families for all the support on the night and behind the scenes. To our amazing students, keep playing, keep pushing yourselves, and most importantly, keep enjoying the music. You should all be proud of what you’ve accomplished. Well done!
