Thank you to everyone who voted for Yeronga State School's Green Team.  The voting is now closed.  Now we just have to sit and wait until 17th October to find out if we have won!  Fingers crossed!!

Single-use plastics and Lost Property

Our Green Team over the past two and a half years have been working very hard to reduce single use plastics in our school.  It's fantastic to see everyone embracing Nude Food and bringing their lunch to school in reusable containers.  Unfortunately, we're starting to see an increase in the number of containers ending up in lost property.  If not claimed, these containers and drink bottles are taken to be recycled or landfilled, effectively turning many of them into single use plastics once again.  Please make sure that any container, drink bottle or cutlery you send to school with your child is clearly labelled with their name and class to help it find its way back to its owner if it is lost.  Please swing by one of the three lost property locations in the school to see if any of the many containers waiting in there belong to you (under stairs in admin block, under year 1 block and at YOSHC).
