Southside Senior Music Workshop
This week twenty-two of the school year 6 instrumental music students have participated in the three-day regional Southside Senior Music Workshop. They have been working hard in that time to learn three challenging string orchestra or concert band pieces and memorise three choir pieces. The concert finished with a performance in the 1500 seat Chandler Theatre. The students said the workshop was challenging and hard work but also fun and that they enjoyed being able to play in an extra large ensemble with students from other schools.
Instrumental Music Recruitment Night Wrap-up
Last week we held the instrumental music recruitment evening for families interested in joining the instrumental music program next year. The evening was well attended, and the students enjoyed hearing demonstrations of the instruments on offer. Applications for the program close at the end of the term. All year 2 and 3 families will have had the application link emailed to them.
