Around the Classrooms
Year 2 have been exploring the features of places near and far as part of their Geography inquiry. They have chosen some of their favourite places and explained their connection to them.
Prep / 1W have been exploring counting techniques and are practicing counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. They are also using the iPads to record their thinking and progress.
Sorry Day Assembly
Our school community are invited to join us for a short assembly next Friday 24th May from 9am in recognition of Reconciliation Week and Sorry Day. It will be a whole school assembly in the outdoor amphitheatre.
2025 Prep Enrolments
2025 Prep Enrolments are currently being accepted. Families are encouraged to submit their paperwork to the office as soon as possible.
The enrolment process for families residing within the catchment area involves completing and submitting an Enrolment Application to the school office (in person or email enrolments@yerongass.eq.edu.au). Enrolment applications can be made at anytime of the year.
Please make sure that you submit a copy of your child's birth certificate as well as 2 proof of residency documents as evidence for your in-catchment application.
The out-of-catchment enrolments process involves completing an Expression of Interest form, and copies of your child's birth certificate and two proof of residency documents and emailing the form to our enrolment section at enrolments@yerongass.eq.edu.au.
EOI Application details will be place on an Expressions of Interest list in date/time order of receipt of applications. The list is reviewed throughout the year and enrolment offers are made if places are available. We recommend emailing in your applications.
Out-of-catchment enrolments Prep 2025 Will open on Monday May 20 2024 from 8.00am. Please note only applications send from 8.00am will be considered as this is a strict starting point. Please make sure you have a copy of your child's birth certificate (or passport) and 2x proof of residency when submitting your application. |
Under 8’s Day
We will once again be hosting an Under 8’s extravaganza at YSS on the last Friday of this term.
On June 21st our outdoor areas will be transformed into a children’s wonderland with bubbles, face painting, arts, crafts, sports, technology and other fun filled activities. Students from Prep to Year 2 will be involved. Families are welcome to attend the morning also from 9 – 10:45am.
Wellbeing Legacy Committee
Yoga Club is back! The Wellbeing leaders are holding lunch time Yoga sessions for all students to enjoy. What a lovely way to unwind and relax over the lunch break. Great work Wellbeing Team!
Sustainability Legacy Committee
The Sustainability crew are on a mission to increase the cash for cans at school. They’ve supplied all classes with an appropriate collection point, and are tracking the data. What a great initiative!

The House Captains are excited to start their lunch time activities to promote positive and cooperative play across the school. All students will get the opportunity to engage in these activities starting from next week.
