Principal News

Thankyou to all our families who have managed to make a time with teachers this week for parent teacher interviews. These opportunities are important for fostering the important parent/teacher partnership in every student’s educational success. The knowledge sharing from family to teacher and teacher to family provides greater understanding of each child’s capacity and progress at school.
To all that have come before, thank you for your dreams, courage and action that is embodied in every girl today who sees a path to their future. The old saying ‘you need to see it to be it’ is a simple truth. Happy International Women’s Day!
It is uplifting to walk through classrooms and just by doing so get such a clear understanding of the learning taking place and where students are at in the learning and assessment cycle. The visible learning walls are being activated and evidence of use as a reference for self-regulated feedback evident throughout the school. Students have a clear understanding of the three questions, What are you learning? How are you going? Where to next? and how they directly relate to their agency as learners.
I hope most of you have booked your table for the PandC Trivia night next Saturday. This event is always a great community occasion. I wish to acknowledge Rachel Mackenzie who has run the nights for the past 9 years! This is Rachel’s last year at YSS. Thankyou for the wonderful joy you have facilitated over the many Trivia nights. No doubt some of those nights will be talked about for many more years to come!
Have a great week,
Eunice
